Our family's recipes go back three generations.

Sylvester Aus first perfected his old-world Peanut Brittle recipe in the 1930's at his bakery in Wheaton, Minnesota. Sylvester had much success selling his Candy during World War II. At a time when sugar rations were slim, folks clamored for a taste of his buttery, sweet treats!

Sylvester's son, Carl Aus, carried on the family tradition when he started his own bakery in nearby Granite Falls, Minnesota in the 1950's. For 3 decades, people enjoyed the Peanut and Coconut Brittles made, with love, by Carl. "Carl's Bakery" is still churning out wonderful nutty candy, but today Tom Aus is at the helm. He's using the recipes his father Carl taught him. Tom has also perfected a few more flavors for you; Pecan and Cashew. And now with the help of the Internet, we can share our Candy with you.

Carl’s Bakery is situated in downtown Granite Falls in a storefront facing the beautiful Minnesota River.  We are a full-service bakery offering the finest breads & buns, donuts, cookies, cakes and much more.  You can stop by for breakfast and our lunch menu includes BBQ’s, nachos, cold sandwiches and a variety of beverages.
